What was done?

A full gut renovation of a historic home’s primary suite and first floor, thoughtfully balancing preservation with modern living. The project required significant structural modifications and careful coordination due to the volume of bespoke materials and the complexity of the existing structure.
The kitchen features fully custom cabinetry built by Cann Construction, a sculptural plaster limewash hood, zellige tile backsplash, and Calacatta Picasso marble countertops. Playful yet intentional details—such as a built-in water bowl for the family dog—add personality, while Duvall brass fixtures bring warmth and continuity. A limewashed powder room further reinforces the tactile, old-world character.
The primary suite continues the dialogue between old and new. The bathroom features custom wall paneling, hand-laid floor tile arranged in a precise diamond pattern, and a bespoke vanity with integrated makeup area, also crafted by Cann Construction. Rich Calacatta Viola marble elevates the space, while a restored cast-iron tub honors the home’s historic roots. A fully custom walk-in closet completes the suite.
The result is a layered, highly crafted renovation—one that respects the home’s history while delivering modern function, refined detailing, and enduring design.
